I make a range of cheerfully decorated slipware pottery, with designs which often reflect Galloway - such as seabirds, boats or sheep, though you are just as likely to find the odd mad dog, crocodile or tiger making an appearance.   Much if my work springs from extruded sections, such as squared plates, long undulating dishes  and curving vases as well as ceramic furniture and three dimensional figurative pieces.

I enjoy developing forms which reflect and reinforce my illustrative sense of decoration. Incised marks in the clay, poured and sprayed layers of slips, all contribute to my ceramic compositions. The use of bold images, seek to reflect and augment the shape and character of each piece and follow the rhythm of the form. I have recently been looking at some of my two dimensional images  and transferring them into three, adding a whole new seam of creative possibilities to my work.
