PITTENWEEM ARTS FESTIVAL 2019
Over 100 artisits will be displaying work throughout the village including several SPA members:
Karen James: Karen James will be exhibiting her figurative ceramics alongside tapestry weaver, Emma Jo Webster. The venue is number 42 and is located at 5 Mid Shore. There you will find a variety of items ranging from cards and small gift items to larger work.
Leonie MacMillan: Ceramic sculpture reflecting on the precarious predicament of cetaceans; whales, dolphins and porpoises. Also some new larger work with paper clay.
Fran Marquis: Fran has been working with the theme of Cracked Earth recently in porcelain and a groggy pink clay. She explores the materials and their limits as a metaphor for geological and human pressures on the earth. This year her venue is especially beautiful.
Moyra Stewart: Moyra’s ceramic sculptures are inspired by the geology of Scotland and seem more like stone than clay. Years of experience in the difficult medium of Raku is apparent in the intricate patterns and organic forms of her work. To celebrate 10 years at Pittenweem Arts Festival she will demonstrate Raku Firing at Ovenstone 109 on Friday 9th August.
