My hand-built ceramics are inspired by where I live and work, deep in Blackhall Forest just outside Banchory.  I like to walk and to draw, so there is often a narrative in my work - collections from an expedition into the forest or an afternoon in the garden.  The colours of the Scottish landscape play a large part in my practice, and I can waste a lot of time experimenting with different glazes and oxides to make wonderful new shades of green, blue and grey!

I love a good community project, and have worked a lot over the past few years with other artists, chefs and members of the community to make ceramic installations or to produce work for an exhibition.

I teach classes at my studio and I'm a part time tutor for Gray's School of Art Short Courses which run through the winter months.
