I have been living in Stow since 1994, where I work in the old howff, which I have gradually been converting into a studio.

I produce a distinctive style of stoneware pottery that takes its theme from the Scottish Borders countryside, with an appliqué technique applied to traditional forms. My sheep and snowdrop ranges have become a favourite with tourists and collectors alike. My work includes table and kitchenware, candle sconces, mirrors, earring holders and decorative framed tiles.

Most of the pieces I make are hand-thrown, while a few are made from slabs.

I sell mainly through The Crafters co-operative in Melrose (www.thecrafters.co.uk) , and a number of shops and galleries throughout Scotland, as well as directly to individuals worldwide through the Internet. I also enjoy making one-off pieces for galleries and private commissions.

I also run classes in the studio in Stow on Wednesday afternoons and evenings, and Saturday mornings. All welcome, just call me for details.
