Blebo Potter Takes to Two Wheels

Posted on

George Young of St Andrews Pottery is planning to take part in a sponsored cycle from the South to the North of the Outer Hebrides.
The charity he is raising funds for is called Ruda UK which has built a new Nursery and Primary school in Namanditi in the Ruvuma region of Tanzania. The next stage is to build a dormitory and the second of the classrooms also needs to be furnished.

By 2012 there were 31 sponsored children at the school 30 of whom were supported by friends of Ruda from the UK and abroad. These have now been joined by 15 students whose parents can afford to pay the fees and the plan is to expand the role to 60 students thereby allowing the books to balance for school expenditure. The project however still has some way to go and any assistance however small would be greatly appreciated.

If you would like more information about Ruda UK you can visit the website which is www.rudatanzania.org.uk.
If you would like to donate you can do so directly through www.everyclick.com/ruda

George has also made mugs for the charity (£10), which you can order directly from him at: www.standrewspottery.co.uk/‎
