I work mostly in ceramics using handbuilding techniques. I use earthenware and stoneware clays. I also work in stone carving (limestone). My main influences are from the Cubists and Modernists. Although, like most, I seek inspiration and ideas of form and image from many of the great eras.

I have a longstanding interest in the study of ancient civilisations, particularly the Egyptians and I strive to see how I can find a way to incorporate that interest into a piece of work.

I studied figurative sculpture in clay at Glasgow School of Art, and ceramics at many pottery studios across central Scotland. Limestone carving I studied at Edinburgh Sculpture Workshops. I am part of several Life Drawing groups, mainly as a means to continuously develop my figurative ceramics work
