I live at the very north of Scotland, in a county called Caithness. The vast open landscape , folklore and wild environment heavily influences my work.
I achieved an HND in Ceramics, Sculpture and Design from Cardonald College in Glasgow, graduating in 1999. Currently I am making work for exhibitions, and working towards my website shop updates.
My love of clay started the moment I touched it. I never tire of creating with clay; from animal sculptures to domestic ware, there are so many possibilities.
I mainly use hand building techniques like pinched pots, slabs, and coiling; while also enjoying carving out of solid clay for larger pieces. For more of an in-depth look at my work and inspirations or to contact me, please do visit my website @ susanmarshallceramics.com or drop me a message on social media ( Facebook and Instagram ) at Susan Marshall Ceramics.
