The Scottish Potters Association (SPA) hereby give notice that the Annual General Meeting of the SPA scheduled to take place at 4.30pm on Saturday 14th March 2020 has been cancelled.
Due to the extraordinary circumstances presented by the outbreak of the Coronavirus COVID-19, it has been decided by the committee that holding the AGM at this time would be contrary to public health. As the situation is a fluid one and the government advice is changing daily, it is not clear at this time whether an alternative date can be set for the AGM within the allotted 15 month window from the last AGM.
As a result, the committee (as Charity Trustees) have agreed, after discussions with the Office of the Scottish Charities Regulator, that should we not be able to hold an AGM within the allotted time-frame, we will arrange an Extraordinary General Meeting later in the year when it is safe to do so, in accordance with government and Public Health Scotland advice at that time.
In the meantime, the Office of the Scottish Charities Regulator have confirmed that we can submit unsigned accounts for last year and have these signed off and re-submitted when we are able to hold an Extraordinary General Meeting.
The committee can authorise for committee members to remain in place or new committee members to be appointed until we are able to hold an Extraordinary General Meeting.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused
