You will be warmly welcomed into our friendly, relaxed and fully equiped Pottery Studio.
A focus on clay preparation, throwing, turning, controlling shape, refining & finishing, surface decoration at leather hard stage.
You will learn:
Day 1
Centering & coning the clay
Lifting and shaping
Control throwing to make bowls & cylinders
Day 2
Centring and securing leather hard pieces on the wheel - ready for ‘turning’
Techniques for turning and refining work made
Foot rings, curves, different finishes using tools
Making and attaching handles
Option to apply carved decoration
You will be introduced to methods & techniques using demonstrations, explanations and reference to examples. Support and guidance will be offered throughout the duration of the course.
