THIS COURSE IS IDEAL FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE BASIC ABILITY AT THE WHEEL AND LOOKING TO IMPROVE AND ADVANCE AT YOUR OWN LEVEL.
A focus on production throwing, consistency of form, repetition and scaling up.
You will learn -
Day 1
Thorough preperation of the clay - wedging, kneading and balling up. These are vital skills for making good pots on the wheel.
Bowls - perfecting the curve, option to scale up.
Cylinders - shifting the weight from the base and getting the most out of the clay. Controlling the shape to create desired result.
Day 2
Tips on centring and securing leather hard pieces on the wheel - ready for turning
Techniques for turning and refining work made
Foot rings, curves, different finishes using tools
Making and attaching handles
You will be introduced to methods & techniques using demonstrations, explanations and reference to examples. Support and guidance will be offered through the duration of the course.
We offer a delicious lunch of fresh crusty bread, cheeses, cold meats & salad.
