Around 50 members of the Scottish Potters Association from all over Scotland are exhibiting their ceramic work in an exciting new exhibition at The Barony, West Kilbride opening on Saturday 7th May 2022.

Following Visit Scotland’s theme for 2022 “Scottish Stories”, the theme for the exhibition is “Stories” with each potter asked to create work around a central story which could be anything from the history of pottery to the source of their inspiration to work with clay. All the stories will be displayed alongside the ceramic works in the exhibition.

As a result of the wide theme, a superb range of work will be on display and all will be available for purchase. From colourful thrown tableware including mugs, plates, bowls and vases, to hand built sculpture of human and animal forms, playful miniature houses, and even wall hangings. From earthenware to porcelain, from wood-fired to raku-fired pieces, the fullest range of ceramic works is on offer.

The Scottish Potters Association are delighted that The Barony have been able to accommodate such a large exhibition from our talented members including, Rona Slevin, Moira Ferguson, Christine Flynn, Billy Dunn, Richie Cameron, Fran Marquis, Ken Tongue, Miriam Reid and James Bassett – to name but a few.

This is a unique opportunity to see such a wide range of contemporary Scottish-made ceramics drawn from every part of Scotland.

The SPA Stories Exhibition runs from Saturday 7th May – Saturday 11th June 2022 at The Barony Centre, 50 Main Street, West Kilbride KA23 9AR, which is open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday.
