Iona Monks Pottery is the pottery studio of the Orthodox Monastery of the Mother of God and All Saints of Iona.
We are an Orthodox monastic community established on the Isle of Iona. Our work is functional stoneware ceramics, either entirely hand-built or thrown on the wheel and then reshaped by hand.
We are deeply inspired by the Christian past of Iona and the raw beauty of its scenery. We strive to create work which combines constant prayer with the natural elements of God's creation. Clay from the springs of Mull and Iona, shells and sand from the beaches, pebbles and wild flowers - they all leave a mark on our work.
