Mostly I make functional pottery for everyday use. The clay I throw is either stoneware or earthenware, which can be fired to very high temperatures, so I end up firing them both up to cone 6.
I decorate the pieces in bright colours using my own stencils, brushes and sponges. As I also do printmaking a lot of inspiration comes from there. Music is a big inspiration too.
I use an electric kiln but I do have a little raku kiln and enjoy everything about it.
